The camera made in the image of Charlie the Tuna, a corporate symbol of the StarKist company, is a colorful camera that was made in 1971 by Whitehouse Products Inc. of Brooklyn, New York. It is one of scores of funny, wacky and practical, traditional cameras in Tom Holtje's collection.
For $4.95 and three Starkist tuna labels, the buyer of the Charlie Tuna camera received a camera that was about 10 inches tall. Charlie's fins held the 126 film cartridge and the top of Charlie's head could hold a flash cube.
